Cause of laptop overheating?
- The air vents are blocked. happens because of dust, set up laptop on bed, pillow,that reduces air flow.
- Dust, dirt can hinder your laptop’s fan, causing it to struggle to cool down the device .
- Such as an old battery or decaying thermal paste, also reason of overheating the PC/Laptop.
How to fix it?
- Shut down the laptop, unplug the cords, and remove the battery and take a break from using it until it has completely cooled down.
- If possible then use pressure air to clean your laptop’s vents. If your fan continues to struggle, make noises, or run at maximum speed, it may need to be checked for other issues.
- Inspect the all air vents and fan for dirt or other blockage.
- Change your Laptop’s fan settings. If you have a Windows OS, you can do this in the BIOS menu. There are also third-party power management apps that allow to access the fan settings.
How to prevent laptops from overheating?
- Work in or use a cooler/Air conditioned room.
- Clean your vents immediately if you notice any dust or hairs also you can clean it on weekly basis.
- Always keep your laptop on a sturdy, flat surface like a desk or table
- Check your battery percentage or if it is old then change the genuine battery of your laptop.
